 Why?
Summer streamflow in the Koksilah River is crucial everyone who love and depend on the river and for salmon. But summer low flows have decreased due to climate change, water use and possibly forestry practices. Cowichan Tribes and the provincial government are working together in an innovative partnership to build better water management and resilience in the Koksilah watershed by scoping a Water Sustainability Plan.

What we are doing?
We are a community-based research project to support the scoping of a Water Sustainability Plan. With community partners and members, we are monitoring and modeling streamflow throughout the Koksilah watershed to improve our understanding of current and future low flows and encourage deeper community engagement with water science. We encourage you to get involved, check out our results and discover who we are.
